OrahVision Atlas
The Orah Vision Atlas is a specialized digital access platform and desktop assistive device designed for individuals with low vision, macular degeneration, and visual impairments.
Unlike traditional video magnifiers that merely enlarge image, the Atlas electronically captures, processes, and re-renders documents. It is built for extreme simplicity and features a one-button interface so users can operate it with virtually zero training.
Core Functions & Capabilities
- One Button Easy Capture & Auto-Correction : The user places any document, bill, book, or mail beneath the device and presses a single button. Atlas automatically adjusts lighting, corrects for glare, straightens angled pages, and flattens paper curves.
- Document Rendering & Magnification: Instead of dispalying a blurry, blown-up photo, Atlas renders sharp, digital text. Users can zoom in and out using familiar pinch gestures (like an iPad) with visual sharpness maintained at every level.
- Natural Voice Read-Aloud (OCR & Text-to-Speech): Converts physical text into clear speech, highlighting words in real-time as it reads aloud.
- AI Document Q&A: Users ask conversational questions about scanned document instead of reading through long text (e.g., "What is the total on this bill? ", "When is this due?", or "Summarize this letter"), receiving direct plain-language spoken answers.
- Interactive Form Filling & Signing: Allows users to fill out forms and sign documents directly on the screen, then print or email the completed file independently.
- Built-in Email & File Management: Includes a simple document management system that categorizes scans into folders and lets users read, write, and send emails directly from the devcie.
- Library Connectivity: Connects to Bookshare and National Federation for the Blind Newsline. Bookshare is the worlds largest digital library for people with visual disabilities with over 1.4 million accessable e-books and text-books. NFB-Newline delivers audio and accessable text versions of many national and local newspapersand magazines.
